Description

These French oak staves are imported from France and soaked in wine vats for flavoring at prestigious Napa Valley vineyards in Northern California. Only a few forests in France grow this wood, some of which were planted back in the Napoleonic times (1799-1815) for shipbuilding.

After being infused with wine, these planks are wirewheeled and milled flat so they can be repurposed into unique and beautiful creations. We’ve used them for wine stave furniture, accent walls, cabinet faces, and other DIY projects, which become well-regarded conversation pieces. On close inspection, you can still catch the faint aroma of wine and oak.

We are the only source in America for these reclaimed wine staves. They are most rare, as conventional wine staves are much smaller in size and don't have the unique brand markings. Our planks are 5” wide and 116” long while conventional staves are 2” wide and 27” long.

Calculating Square Footage

  • Measure the width and height of your wall in inches.
  • Multiply these numbers to get the total square inches. For example, a wall that is 120 inches wide and 96 inches high equals 11,520 square inches.
  • Convert the total square inches to square feet by dividing by 144. For example, 11,520 square inches divided by 144 equals 80 square feet.
  • Add 10% extra to cover waste. For an 80 square foot wall, order 88 square feet.
  • If you have exact foot measurements, convert them to inches first (1 foot = 12 inches)

We offer free shipping on all orders, and hope you get the chance to enjoy these special french oak wine staves!

FAQ

Do you offer returns?

Yes! We're confident you'll love your order, but sometimes things don't work out—and we get that. If you have any issues, please reach out and we will make it right. Should you change your mind at any point within 90 days after ordering, let us know and we will set up a hassle-free return for you. Please note: wood must be new and unused, buyer pays return shipping. If you opened a box, that's fine—please seal it back up so it stays intact during shipping! For more info, look at our full return policy here.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping times vary depending on location and order size. You can expect delivery typically between 4 to 14 days after your purchase.

Where do you source your wood from?

Much of our lumber comes from northern Idaho. However, we don't limit our selection to one area; rather, we scour for the best wood we can get our hands on. From vintage fences on the West Coast to rustic barns from the Midwest, we source from all across the US.

Do you offer samples?

We offer samples for many of our products. Look for the "Sample" size option on our listings. If you don't see an option, contact us and we may be able to send you a custom sample.

Is your wood chemically treated to give it its aged look?

We never treat our wood with any chemicals or expedited aging techniques to create "artificial" rustic-looking wood. Instead, we naturally air-dry our lumber indoors and ensure each board isn't infested with bugs and rot. All our wood, and we mean every single board, has been salvaged from antique structures, be it fences, barns, or even old houses.

Is this real authentic wood?

We only stock and sell authentic reclaimed wood, never processing new boards to look old. Due to natural aging and weathering, no two boards we sell are exactly alike. Our wood does vary slightly over time since each batch has a unique origin. One side of our wood may appear fresh. This is due to vertically milling some of our wood products to create a fresh side, which helps the wood sit flat during installation.
